Jamil has more than 18 years of work experience in innovation development and management. He worked with different local, regional and international organizations in the Middle East. He participated in different innovation support programs targeting Private and Public sectors, NGOs as well as Universities.
Currently he is managing the Program Innovation and Entrepreneurship (PIE) at the German Jordanian University.
He started his career in the innovation development side where he was an R&D engineer who developed Telecommunication devices for Siemens. He moved then to the field of innovation management and entrepreneurship where he established a startup in the IT Open Source field, then consulting company in innovation management field IBTECAR.
During his work he mentored and coached several organizations’ leaders as well as benchmarked SMEs innovation ability and performance to accelerate the new products development process.
Jamil has developed innovation funding programs along with the monitoring and evaluation systems in 3 different countries, Jordan, Palestine and UAE. During his work, Jamil has participated in the evaluation of more than 1000 research and innovation proposals and monitored more than 100 projects covering sectors like ICT, Energy, BioTechnology, Medicine, etc. He also developed several tools for innovation assessment for ASTF, ASRF, Bedaya and GJU.
As a certified trainer Jamil conducted various training programs and seminars in different areas related to innovation and creativity to public and private sector and universities and schools as well.
Jamil holds a Masters degree in Technology and Innovation Management from FH-Brandenburg and BTU Cottbus (Germany) plus a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from Birzeit University, Palestine. Jamil is global operator having lived in 5 countries and interacted with 50 cities.
