Jamil Alkhatib the director of the innovation and entrepreneurship center project of GJU, shared the vision of the university in supporting job creation through responsible innovation at this center and how it is going to support not only the students and academics but also the local community in their innovations and startups. The approach is based on collaboration and openness while building the right culture and environment for innovation and entrepreneurship at GJU.
The formal opening was followed by discussions and activities with the aim of discovering opportunities to better contribute to building the innovation and entrepreneurship environment in Jordan. It is worth mentioning that more than 50 participants of different active organizations in the entrepreneurship support field, private sector and research organizations joined the activities and contributed with their feedback and ideas in innovative approaches.
In order to strengthen the students’ point of view, a parallel discussion in the same room took place with a group of active students who proposed a model for the entrepreneurship center and presented it to the stakeholders.
At the end the participants appreciated the open discussion and the opportunity to have the actors in this field in one room to support the innovation and entrepreneurship eco-system in Jordan and collaborate rather than duplicate activities.
It is worth mentioning that the GJU Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center is seeking to play a remarkable role in the development of the innovation and entrepreneurship eco-system in Jordan through collaboration with different stakeholders.
